Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Solid garnet colour, ripe nose with notes of black cherries; rich, fat and wonderfully radiant. One of the most accomplished wines ever from this estate, with a characteristically dynamic Pauillac bouquet and flavours that linger endlessly on the back palate. That said, not as refined or fleshy as the Pichon-Comtesse, and a bit short on finesse and upfront tannins. 15/16.
