Michael Schuster: Medium-bodied, drily tannic; ripe fruit with an edgy, bright acidity. Not, on the evidence of this sample, a noteworthy Chasse-Spleen. 14.5

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Terrific colour, full-bodied and fleshy with ripe tannins, succulent aromas of red currants and blackberries and lovely energy. An unusually consistent wine, more striking at this stage than its immediate neighbours. 16
