Michael Schuster: Dense, full, fresh, tannic; plenty of fruit in an overall severe mold; will need plenty of time. 15.5?
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Deep, close-grained texture, succulent and lusty with voluminous flesh. A really great wine, exceptionally vinous and a credit to the cru. Let's hope it doesn't spoil like some of the new oaked vintages we have seen in recent years, which have retained their force of character but departed from their original aromatic precision. Given the high proportion of new oak, the aging process will have to be carefully supervised. 17/18
