BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Super-prestige cuvée with an output of some 50,000 bottles per annum and still very reasonably priced (€20). Beautifully crafted using some of the co-op's best Cabernets and likely to make wineries throughout France think. Showed slightly fresher than the Galius, with a more subtle bouquet and more complex tannins, although both share the same fulsome character with no trace of heaviness. 16
