Simon Larkin : Something of the exotic on the nose, a touch of spice from the oak melds with scented roses and vibrant red fruits. The palate reveals a pure core of dense, dark cherry fruit, almost damson in nature. Really vibrant, there is a pleasing sense of freshness allied to ripe fruit and fine tannin quality. Some real volume here, and an expansive layered texture. Demands patience despite its somewhat extrovert nature. 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Youthful, vibrant, very modern-looking wine (that is, the colour is almost suspiciously deep). Massive wine though slightly on the soupy side. The result is ungainly, overweight, out of balance. Impressive, but not a joy to drink. 14
