Michael Schuster: Mid-purple; succulently ripe to smell, but minerally as well; rich middleweight wine with a firm acidity and fine, firm but restrained tannin; sweet and fresh in flavor, with a top premier cru class and raciness. Cherry fruited, minerally, long in the mouth, long and scented to finish; very clearly a cut above the Aux Thorey in complexity, scope, richness, and length. Finely etched, very aromatic on the palate and on the long finish. Classic, classy premier cru Vosne-Romanée. Accessible and absolutely delicious now, on the basis of this sample, but will probably harden up in bottle. 2013–26. All that said, it is also fair to point out that it comes at a grand cru price! 17.5
