Michael Schuster: Mid-purple; succulently ripe to smell, but minerally as well; rich middleweight wine with a firm acidity and fine, firm but restrained tannin; sweet and fresh in flavor, with a top premier cru class and raciness. Cherry fruited, minerally, long in the mouth, long and scented to finish; very clearly a cut above the Aux Thorey in complexity, scope, richness, and length. Finely etched, very aromatic on the palate and on the long finish. Classic, classy premier cru Vosne-Romanée. Accessible and absolutely delicious now, on the basis of this sample, but will probably harden up in bottle. 2013–26.
