Stephen Brook: Firm raspberry-coulis nose. Rich, full-bodied and concentrated, flamboyant and spicy, oaky and pungent, with hefty and somewhat dry tannins on the finish. Respectable length. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep red. Attractive liquorous cherry with some cherry-kernel shavings. Not a fresh sample, though; a touch of oxidative toffee too. Intense but abrupt, harsh, aggressive, with some bitter finishing notes. Lots of concentration, power, and depth. I can’t give it a good score, though, since it seems to me that the juicy charm of the vintage eludes this wine. 14.5
