Stephen Brook: Very ripe black-cherry and nutmeg nose; has an exotic edge. Fairly rich and certainly tannic, but rather fluid for Chambertin—a touch dour, without the intensity of fruit one would hope for. Quite good length. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Earthy, warm, and lively, the wine’s creamy black fruits are darkened with a little licorice root. Lush, deep, and grippy, almost peppery. It has the classic cool fire of the vineyard. Fine oak has brought the spice. Only held back from a higher score by a slight finishing hardness. 16
