BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Very correct but not currently very attractive wine of medium depth, turning on rim, slightly stavey nose and typical acid-cherry fruit palate, tannins firm but largely ripe, a certain greenness which may not go amiss in years to come. Traditional style which will need time to come out. 16

Roy Richards Suggestion of oxidation, molasses. This is very evolved in terms of fruit with some rigorous and rustic tannins bringing up the rear. Traditional. 15

Franco Ziliani: Marvelous light brilliant ruby color. The nose shows some complexity with wild black cherries, aromatic herbs, black pepper, leather and grilled meat. Good structure, solid and soft round tannins, has an interesting complexity, with luscious fruit, some licorice, a well-balanced acidity that gives to the wine a long finish and a good richness of savor with earthy, mineral, and salty notes. Really a good expression of Montalcino’s Sangiovese, with elegance and freshness. 18
