Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep. Nose if anything neutral, perhaps over-oaked. A little better than previous, but still not inviting, with cooked chemical aromas of less than pleasant type. 10

Roy Richards Soft, blackberry/Victoria plum bouquet – this remains fine with oxidation. The palate has explosive fruit and is very appealing, with the obfuscation of new oak. This will be grand and is already voluptuous. 18

Franco Ziliani: Good color, intense ruby-violet. Bouquet is fresh, rich, complex, with notes of cherry, cassis, and some plum, dried flowers, licorice, a hint of rhubarb and aromatic herbs. A good impression of freshness, energy, and purity of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with well-balanced acidity, soft tannins, and a good savory richness for a vertical long finish. A very good wine and a real expression of Brunello. 17
