Nicolas Belfrage: Traditional style, cherry on nose, nicely balanced with sweet fruit and fine acidity, tannins in place, all ready to come together from about 2012. 15

Roy Richards Muted, then a tight iodé nose with some cassis – don’t know whether this is reduction or Syrah! Definitely a seductive wine, a question mark over the maquillage? 15

Franco Ziliani: Simple nose with herbal vegetal notes and simple round fruit. Correct, honest wine, with a good structure, no particular complexity, well-made, round, with a good finish, but you would hope for more personality from a Brunello. 14.5
