BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep nose, balsam and cherry, but berry there too, and a hint of rubber. Very concentrated and built to impress, thick and tight with hairs on the chest. Coffee and dark chocolate, big in tannin, extract, and flavor. Heroic wine of its type, and of its type very well made, but doesn’t instantly call to mind Brunello. 16

Roy Richards Intense, mocha nose. Not disagreeable. Very suave palate, arguably a bit too urbane and lacking in excitement. 14

Franco Ziliani: Dense extractive color, very concentrated. The nose shows some green unripe tones without complexity. Very simple, fruity, sweet, round on the palate, too simple and banal for a good Brunello. 13.5
