BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep but with definite Sangiovese turn on rim. Bright aroma with accent on sour cherry rather than wood. One of those old-time wines with drying tannins at back and a firm acid backbone. This would not necessarily please the modernists but has firm traditionalist credentials. Drink from 2015 on. 17

Roy Richards Open and energetic – charred oak. Good acidity, perhaps too much winemaking. 13

Franco Ziliani: Dark aggressive inky tones. The nose is extractive, bitter, green, with an impression of unripe grapes. The palate is very simpl, with no great expression and complexity, good tannic structure, slightly astringent tannins, no balance, no greatness. 12
