BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, almost opaque, with orange on rim. Blackcurrant and mint on nose. Very concentrated and a little low on acid, though tannins are plentiful and fine. A classy wine, if not typical. Drink 2012 to 2020+. 15

Roy Richards Sweet and beery. Plenty there, but as with [Col d’Orcia], one wonders whether malo has worked. 12

Franco Ziliani: very intense nose, with a hint of oak and spices. The palate is flat, without energy, no consistence, low acidity, and a totally boring, one-dimensional finish, with no appeal. Banal, ordinary wine, without any sense of terroir. 12.5
