Nicolas Belfrage: (Second bottle) Why do I get fried eggs on nose? Probably because all this Brunello is driving me mad. Actually there is good fruit on the palate with firm if slightly tough tannins. Correct, workmanlike but uninspired. 12

Roy Richards Cushy but clean and fresh – second nose TCA, tainted on the palate too. Dried out. Second bottle – chocolaty, but very much better, so the bottle rather than the wine. 13

Franco Ziliani: Very sweet, oaky overripe nose, not totally clean with some reduction and animal nuances, medium structure, without energy, ripe fruit, some oak, a wine without complexity or precise focus. 12
