BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Very bright medium deep, attractive hue. Clean fresh balsam-tinted nose. Tannins are tough now but could be good for the long haul, except that fruit element isn’t entirely convincing. Has aging potential but not sure how it will turn out. 13

Roy Richards Strangely vegetal, celery. The palate seems better, but the wood knocks it sideways – can’t see this going anywhere. 11

Franco Ziliani: Ruby violet, intense color. The nose is very expressive and shows very ripe fruit and some oaky toasted notes that give some bitterness to the bouquet. The palate is simply without complexity and energy, and the finish is a triumph of oaky, bitter, astringent notes, not appealing at all. 11
