Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright, with beginnings of turn on the rim. Clean if quiet nose, with herb rather than fruit showing through. Plenty of sour cherry on the palate, some sottobosco, firm acidity, and longish finish. Has the structure to last; could drink now. 2015–25. 15.5
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny rim. Refined, intense, forest undergrowth nose, with elegant small red-fruit character. Medium to full body, with a balanced palate of Bing cherries. A classic Sangiovese with a lot of grace, yet it’s a touch simple. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Clear and bright. Lively red fruits (currant, plum, and cherry) provide the attraction in this orderly, calm, and unthrusting aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is linear and sinewy, quite dry, the settled red fruits shading into a kind of meat jus refinement in the back palate. The finish is long, concentrated, and suave. Satisfying, wellcrafted Brunello for aficionados. 15.5
