BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright, garnet rim. Succulent fruit on the palate, with very smooth tannins and good acidity. For drinking soon but with molto piacere. First bottle corked. 16.5

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink; tawny rim. Touchrustic nose, with mature black fruits and hints of Mediterranean herbs. Medium body, touch-green tannins and fairly simple finish. 14

Andrew Jefford: Earthy, full, forceful aromas: dark-plum fruits, with back scents of moist coal or blocks of charcoal left out in the rain. Concentrated, relatively sweet wine, with a slight lack of primary fruit in the mid-palate, which is surprising because the aromatic profile suggested plenty of fresh plum. Smooth tannins. 13.5
