BUY THE WINE

Alison Buchanan: Pale straw–gold in color, this seems to have a slightly faulty estery nose – confected certainly. The palate is much better but does not quite shake off the dolly mixture/pear drop notes that dominate the nose. Orchard fruits, ripe and fresh, come through on the palate, restrained by mineral elements and flint. Taut and composed but lacks some softer edges. 13.5

Alex Hunt: Thin, vegetal nose. The palate shows some richness up–front, but quickly turns hollow and green. Pretty basic. 10

Andrew Jefford: Mid green–gold. Some fresh leafiness, but overall this is rather calm and settled, without youthful zest. Pure, long and lemony; balanced and ripe. An impressive palate. So much so that I am now going back to the discreet aromatic profile and wondering whether it wouldn’t lift with some time in the glass; on the palate, there is good aromatic potential and power here. Very well–judged and satisfying. 15
