Alex Hunt: Very beguiling, complete nose, brimming with fresh berry fruit and that appealing Beaujolais back-note of apple crumble. The palate, though, has a pappy, floury, tannic quality and lack of precision that undoes much of the good work from the nose. 83
Andrew Jefford: Very dark purple-red. Choice redcurrant and red cherry with an attractive floral lift. Pure, sweet, and vapory. Gorgeous thick-textured, mouth-filling, sweetly constituted fruit on the palate, backed by some wonderfully soft tannins. This is not a deeply extracted, thrusting, oaky, or domineering wine in any way, but its charms are outstanding, and there will be few wines on the table with better drinking qualities than this. 91
Peter Liem: This is dark and concentrated, showing black-fruit notes and firm tannins. It’s compact in structure and rather one-dimensional, though its flavors are appealing. 85
