Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. A less allusive style of cherry than for many of its peers, but lots of sweet charm here. The reason for this is oak, which shuts down the fruited allusiveness somewhat. Deep, structured, and satisfying on the palate, but a little bit oak-constrained. Perhaps time will heal all, as underneath that oak there is a magnificent wine: limpid and responsive and as cherry-packed as you like. Give it time. Splendid tannins. 91
Peter Liem: This feels dominated by wood, showing a dark, concentrated ripeness that’s covered by a thick, coffee-like oakiness. While it’s refined in tone, it speaks more of its élevage than anything else. 85
