Simon Field: Rich color, then attractive nose of plum, orchard fruit, and a distant recollection of the boudoir. Palate is a touch green, with rather drying, almost herbaceous tannins slightly obstructing the fruit-basket profile - 15
Alex Hunt: Some challenging but ultimately appealing green/leafy and bacon-fat notes that look north, upriver. Surely some interesting Syrah in here? The structure is more Grenache-influenced: broad, with dry, slightly coarse tannin. But there is a rocky flavor that links the two elements and an overall sense of cohesion and harmony, as well as a neat, long finish - 15
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Good, full robe; blackberry fruit prominent on a pointed nose, with a dark soil, rather reductive undernote, and a peppery, slight green aspect. The fruit is ripe and round. The palate is chiseled with grainy, dusty tannins from the start—there is a small spot of gras richness within, but it is overall not a comfortable ride today. Tense wine that lacks genuine gras. Wait a little. 2013–19/20 - 10.5
