Simon Field: Dignified if slightly unformed nose, with hints of sousbois, herbs, and white chocolate. The palate is gently spicy, with a clean subtext of firm acidity and ripe blueberry fruit; discrete and not overly emphatic, this is an approachable example with a quiet nod to an above-average terroir - 15
Alex Hunt: A lot of apple-skin aldehyde character. Too much like Fino Sherry on the nose. The palate begins fruitily and then yields to volatility. This tastes of good grapes spoiled by too much oxygen - 12
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Handsome dark red; oak and spice, the oak a little green and pushing its rather wellshaped black fruit into the second rank; has a caramel note as well. The palate is direct, with a little moment of pause in its display; the oak keeps tapping at its heels. The fruit is wavy and juiced and has to break down the oak resistance. A touch of glow on the aftertaste. Not sure if it can break through. 2014–20 - 12
