Simon Field: Smoky slightly raw autumnal nose; palate has generous, ripe, red-berry fruit, submissive, not imperceptible tannins, and very impressive balancing acidity; tight-knit savory personality, good length, southern comfort, and a sense of varietal definition - 16.5
Alex Hunt: Beautifully balanced aromas of berry fruit, garrigue, pepper, and classic Gigondas mineral. Firm and, at this stage, unforgiving on the palate, but it’s all there waiting to unwind. Lots of density without heaviness. Real mountain wine - 17
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Deep red, dark core; expansive bouquet, laced with floral airs, has a jolie harmony. Black pepper and salty notes in the background. Orderly attack—again, the word “harmony” springs to mind. Has fine-grain tannin and a relative delicacy in its expression. Upright, cooler-climate style of wine. Needs time to fuse and round, but the shape is there. Good, crisp fruit in this. A serious wine, made to age and evolve. Typical finish, too, tangy and clear. Tasty finish. 2014–26 - 16.5
