Simon Field: Hedonistic and plump aromatics, with notes of summer pudding, morello cherry, and hints of earthiness; palate is broad, long, and pleasingly indulgent, glorying in the ripeness of the vintage and unafraid to extol its merits. Ripe sumptuous featherbed down of tannin and an overwhelming sense of wellbeing, the structure of which will ensure pleasing aging - 17
Alex Hunt: Warm, defiantly southern nose, yet without a hint of overripeness, and plenty of herbal interest. The palate shows mostly red-fruit character; nicely balanced, with enough flesh to cover the tannin. Very confidently made - 15
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Solid dark red; the bouquet is reduced, but there are drifts of violet, flowers, and a serene plum fruit beyond the outer pong. I like its plump, rather buxom nature. The palate bears dark fruit with a crisp glint of tannin and emerges tastily on the finish. This reflects a clay-based Grenache well, with a fine, floral attachment, and a finale that brings in licorice and blackberry juice. Nearly ready, authentic, even if the tannins are a bit stretched. Decant this. 2013–20 - 15.5
