BUY THE WINE

Simon Field: Deep generous color; nose a little green, with hints of tea and graphite; palate has tar, quite dense, oak-informed, dark-berried fruit, quite firm on finish; complete and neat of construction. Broad-shouldered, quite puissant, a little plush - 16.5

Alex Hunt: Ripe, juicy black-fruit aromas. Relatively burly palate: forceful, with quite dry, sandy tannin. Tightly wound, but there is an underlying purity that should emerge further with bottle age - 14.5

John Livingstone-Learmonth: Healthy full robe; really well-packed bouquet; has a thorough depth involving black fruits, smoke, a rustle of herbs, licorice. Palate connects very well to nose and is also filled with gras richness and ample fruit but also good, clear tannin that renders the finish crisp, even tangy. Bundles of potential, good wine, ripe and balanced. Edging out of the starting gate now, so drink now for vigor, but more variety from spring 2014. Ends on solid tannins for the moment; all to play for. Gives excitement. Terroir more evident say around 2016. To 2022–24 - 17
