Simon Field: Deep color; monolithic, somewhat unformed nose, presaging either complexity or failure. The palate inspires us toward the former, with dense, dark, saturnine fruit, fiercely drying tannins, and a chronicle of complexity foretold in the minutiae of a teasingly medieval architecture. Only time will tell - 16.5
Alex Hunt: Modern, plump, glossy nose, with ripe mixed-berry fruit and plenty of depth. The palate takes that fruit character and weaves in a layer of spice, adding freshness and detail. A sort of mineral tautness comes in on the finish. Dynamic, interesting wine - 16
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Dark, crimson, black-red robe; has a rich aspect. The fruit aroma is clear-cut, wholesome, pretty pure. The palate kicks off with savory, welcoming black fruit, with polished, clear tannins inset, and these gradually drive it along into a long finale. Accomplished wine, with modern technique attached to genuine fruit. Very much not yet out and about; is poised to develop and vary, since its balance is good. From 2015 for more local expression. Well made. To 2022 - 16
