Simon Field: Deep color, a rather anonymous youthful nose, a shade reduced, with hints of briery and forest floor eventually declaring themselves. On the palate, the natural acidity cuts a pleasing swath through the red fruit; the tannins are still youthful, somewhat persuasive but discreet, and the finish is correct, if a little ponderous. An upstanding youth! - 15.5
Alex Hunt: A core of lovely blackberry fruit on the nose, but also some minor wayward stinky notes that seem to blow off with swirling. Some green, mossy flavors introduce the palate, which then settles down to more conventional berry fruit and earth. Overall, this lacks some brightness and definition. Not the most refreshing - 13.5
John Livingstone-Learmonth: Good, dark robe; reserved aroma but shows potential and harmony; discreetly wide. There is a subtle underlay of tobacco and oak smoke, but the front fruit is round, welcoming; has good, ripe southern appeal. The palate breezes through, peppered throughout, the tannins a little chalky in the finish. Jolly early fruit here, a wine of regular enjoyment, with the licorice tannins appealing before the conclusion. Pleasing gras at its heart. I can see it showing local feel around 2014 on; has not been too done up in the cellar to exclude that. To 2020 - 15
