Alex Hunt: A reductive nose reminiscent of egg mayonnaise. Hard and reduced on the palate, too, with tough powdery tannin, high acid, and insufficient fruit to pad out all those angles- 10
Andrew Jefford: Saturated black-red. A very savory, farmyardy aromatic profile through which the fruit struggles to emerge. Crunchy and fresh here, yet there is still a slight lack of fruit bonding in the central palate, so you are left with a sense of tannin and acidity alone. Taken with the owl’s nest aromatic cast, this makes it one of today’s less successful wines- 12
Simon Larkin: The nose is a little reductive, almost akin to an unevolved tank sample. The palate follows in a supple yet youthful manner. Sappy, fresh, crushed berry fruits; hints of spice and leafiness, with a vibrant acidity, leaving a rasping impression, this mid-weight example offers little by means of charm or complexity- 9.5
