BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Closed nose. Quite rich but soft and rather flabby, lacking in zest and acidity. Decent fruit but it’s leaden, with dry tannins on the finish. 11.5

Michael Schuster: Very dark red; sweetly ripe berry fruit on the nose; flowing ripe fruit on the palate marred by excess oak astringency, so that we have a wine with a very attractive fruit core, but a tough, dry tannin texture that completely mars its appeal. Sad, really. 14
