Stephen Brook: More raisiny on the nose than the other Barsacs, this has a rôti character that is attractive in its own right, but is at the burnished end of the spectrum rather than showing evident freshness. But the attack is lean and lively with apricot rather than peach fruit, some perky acidity, and reasonable freshness. Again, a lack of length mars the finish. But a sound Barsac, full of fruit. Medium length. 16

Michael Schuster: Deep gold; still relatively closed to smell, but honey and a faintly raisiny character clear; full and rich, but perhaps just lacking a point in acidity; intensely sweet, with the faint raisiny botrytis of the nose also clear on the palate; deliciously juicy, if without the racy elegance of the Doisy–Daëne, for example, and medium, spicy length. Good, but without the verve and definition of the best. Drinkable with pleasure now, not sure it will make old bones. 16
