BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Blackberry and cassis nose with a fine gravel element; rich, lively, very finely tannic, beautifully balanced wine; a lovely fresh blackcurrant sweetness, complex, long, and graceful, softly fleshy with a wonderfully fine tannin texture, and great mineral and fruit-fragrant length. A wine of both generosity and restraint, in the typical Brane style: easy, seductive, effortlessly feminine and complete Margaux. 2028–40. 93–94

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Deliciously fine aromas, silky texture, tender yet powerful, in a near-perfect balance. Probably the most accomplished wine of the past 20 vintages. 97–98
