BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: A lovely nose, rich, subtle, and full of immediate charm; a full-bodied, powerful wine, yet fresh, too, and finely tannic; very sweet flavored, long and tenacious across the palate, a seemingly contradictory combination of the potent and the subtle, but with its power leavened by its complexity; a wine of great scope and length. Totally seductive, if very much sui generis as usual! Needs, and deserves, a decade at least. 2028–40. 93–94

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Sublime velvety texture, great personality, yet another extraordinary and already open wine from the genius and visionary winemaker François Mitjavile. But to appreciate it fully it will need to be drunk at between ten and 20 years of age. 97–98
