Michael Schuster: Black-cherry sweet to smell; rich and fleshy, fresh and firmly tannic; sweet, succulent, and gently muscular, quite powerful, but also fragrant and fine; a beautiful blend of spice, black-cherry fruit and violet scent; mouth-coating, long across the palate, abundant and fleshy, yet tautly contained wine with great fragrant length. Very complete; a fine, long-term, contained power. 2030–50. 93–95
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Very subtle touches of black fruits and Tanzanian pepper on the nose. In the mouth, there is a balanced flesh, with a harmonious density that envelops with delicacy. This is a year when it is the Merlot rather than the Cabernet Franc that gives the cru’s expression its strength and sensuality. 97–98
