Alex Hunt: There’s good tension and line here. It’s a strongly “mineral” wine: concentrated rocky flavors taking center stage over fruit or evolved/ savory notes. And the tannin is assertive yet seamless. A far cry from the archetypal “joyful” Beaujolais, this serious wine is nonetheless a distinctive regional expression. 89
Andrew Jefford: Dark, winking purple-black-red. Another Morgon with ample black-cherry fruit buffed and chased into spicy refinement, that spice perhaps coming at least in part from the fruit itself. A lovely nose of great charm. Vivid, lively, spicy, exuberant, and long: outstanding Morgon with lots of youthful zest and energy, and totally satisfying on the palate. Cherries, yes; spices, yes; some earthiness, yes; and great harmony withal. 93
Peter Liem: This is tense and lively, maintaining a pronounced red-fruit tone even with its ripeness. It’s firmly anchored in soil, feeling more expressive of place than of variety or even vintage, and it finishes with elegant fragrance and length. 91
