Roy Hersh: Very light pink hue, with some ruby in the center and a bricking rim. A wisp of wild berry and toffee aromas blended with lifted scents of nutmeg, malt, wintergreen, and spirit, alluding to the age here. Light-medium-weight, yet a rich, ultra-plush texture to this graceful and fully mature 1927. The distinctive combination of dried cherry, dried date, and spicy mint-laden flavors meld with a touch of warming alcohol, which lead to a luxuriously smooth and decadent but hot, butterscotch aftertaste. Hanging onto its fruit at 90, this bottle of Graham’s was far more advanced than a prior experience in 2004. So, if you own some of this Port, my recommendation is to open a bottle soon.
