Jesús Barquín: Very deep gold, almost amber. The nose confirms the note of oxidation that the color insinuates, but in a subtle way, because the overwhelming impression comes from the biological aging. True Sanlúcar nose. The mouthfeel is powerful and complex, with beautiful balance between the character of the source grapes, the effect of flor, and the slight oxidation. This is another great Manzanilla. 94
Andrew Jefford: Deep in tone (light orange in truth), though light in hue. This looks and smells a little bit oxidized to me. Bottle 2 the same: flat and raisiny. On the palate, there are things to like about this relatively concentrated wine, and it has the purity, light-bodiedness, and tanginess of its style, but for an en rama Manzanilla we are looking for more freshness than this. 83
Peter Liem: This is unusually creamy and broad in feel, thriving on power rather than nuance. Its intensely savory, umami flavors veer toward being oxidative, finishing with a bold, mouthfilling presence. 80
