Stephen Brook: Weird nose, mentholly and quite herbaceous, with little generosity of fruit. Slightly green and raw on the attack, this is harsh and mean, with eye-watering acidity. No pleasure here. 82
Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. A bit grassy and vulpine (well, wet animal fur), with a strange jasmine note, too. However, this is still a very attractive glass of red wine. On the palate, it is deep, soft, long, low-acid, but with ample fruit and beautifully handled tannins to give balance and support. Aromatic precision is definitely an area Viriginia wine growers need to look at, but as so often today, this was a wine that convinced once it was in the mouth, with its soft, textured, and faintly floral style. 90
Peter Liem: While the flavors of cherry and black raspberry are juicy and ripe, this is simple and a little shapeless, lacking focus and structure. 80
