Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red. Broad-brush, almost spicy fruit and generous oak, but plenty of plummy support for that oak. On the palate, the wine is plump, rich, round, elegant and sweet-toned, not sour-toned. There are ample textured tannins, and concentration and length, too. The quick, flinty nature of the vintage is apparent, but it doesn’t vitiate the chunky, generous, round-contoured Trotanoy style, and this will carry through time with some poise and style. Another fine effort from the Moueix team, and a clear style contrast to the Fleur-Pétrus, as well as being a magnificent effort for the vintage. Now to 2026. 92
Stephen Brook: Reticent dark-fruits nose, black cherries. Silky and delicate, with no great weight of fruit, but a good and precise expression of what fruit there is. It is concentrated and dignified, with no rough edges. The moderate acidity may limit its aging potential, but this should hold and perhaps improve for some years yet. 91
