Alex Hunt: Slightly inky, but nice concentration and lift to the palate. There’s enough blackberry/apple fruit to fill out the chewy structure. Good shortishterm potential. 86
Andrew Jefford: Very deep purple-red: the deepest of its cohort. A sheaf of sweetly spicy fruits: black and red cherry combined, and some floral notes. This is very deep and dense, with ample tannins, and a very fresh, almost sour style of fruit on the palate; more floral than spice here, too. Brisk, lifted, and commanding: outstanding Chénas, and eminently cellar-worthy. 91
Peter Liem: The berry-like flavors are fragrant and forward, though severely clamped down by stern tannins on the finish. This is a little difficult now, needing time in the bottle to settle down. 84
