Stephen Brook: Deep red. Rather baked nose, far from fresh, has a somewhat dour Porty tone; quite toasty. Medium-bodied and reasonably concentrated; fresher than the nose, with an agreeable airiness, perhaps at the expense of depth of flavor. Moderate acidity, little complexity, but attractive and forward. Medium length. 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep red-black. First of the run today that seems to have a genuine creaminess to it. Sweetly creamy and plummily enticing. Rather simple fruit, though. Lots of decidedly sweet, lush fruit here, too, with relatively light, supple tannins and a briskish finish. Fine definition to the fruit, though. Chocolate notes at the end. Supple and tasty. Bright acidity. Pomerol second/third terrace or St-Emilion plain? 13
Hugh Johnson: Mature-looking, faded rim. Powdery perfume, a bit astringent, slight coffee/oak. Up-front substance; sweet, meaty flavors; then a lack of line; and final acidity. 13
