Simon Field: A vibrant amber coloring; and a disciplined and aromatic nose with rosehip and a hint of tobacco. Palate preserves this structural integrity: notes of fig and raisins and a firm weave of sugar and tannin. Benchmark in its construction and harmony. 17.5

Richard Mayson: Mid-mahogany color. Subdued aromas but with a piquancy on the palate that suggests a high average age of wines in the blend. Surprisingly dry and austere on the finish. A lovely old wine, possibly drying out but none the worse for that. 16

Margaret Rand: Raisiny and intense, with character and concentration. Sweet and rich, with a spicy note to the sweetness and a big finish. 16.5
