BUY THE WINE

Jesús Barquín:Serious and well structured, with blackberry and black peppercorn; complex, with the right profile of ripe berries, menthol, licorice, and undergrowth that leads these types of wines along the path of excellence. Long and elegant. 17

Richard Mayson:Deep, opaque; quite rich, dense without giving a great deal away on the nose, more to give; succulent fruit initially, with firm, dry tannins rising in the mouth; quite powerful on the finish but also quite austere, lacking a bit of flesh. A good middle- to long-distance wine. 15.5

Charles Metcalfe:Dark, treacly, with some red fruit and quite overt spirit. Sweet, rich fruit, with very firm tannins and good acidity. Lean, muscular wine, with firm structure, excellent acidity and perfumed berry fruit. Length is good, still perfumed and fresh. 17.5
