Stephen Brook:Fairly deep red, with considerable evolution. The intense, sweet, leafy nose betrays the hot vintage, but the seductive aromas, while clearly mature, are cedary and have lovely lift, poise, and elegance. The palate mirrors the nose, the tannins are sleek, and this is drinking beautifully. Mature yet fresh, with a dash of cappuccino. A remarkably good 1976.
