Stephen Brook:Medium-deep brick red; very mature but still bright. Lean and restrained leathery nose. Despite some raspberry scents, it lacks some evident sweetness of fruit. Much more robust on the palate, with a good attack, considerable concentration and weight, admirable force, and even a touch of alcohol on the finish. There is less finesse and perfume than with the 1929, but the fruit is still there. Truly vigorous and long for a 90-year-old wine.
