Stephen Brook: Fairly deep to deep red. Closed nose, a touch smoky. Medium-bodied and lean yet concentrated, with quite high acidity and distinct tannins. It lacks flesh and immediate appeal now, being incredibly tight. There is some lift and a tangy freshness but not much charm. Long. One knows from experience that this is likely to develop well, but at this stage it is underwhelming. 17
