Stephen Brook: Fairly deep red, with brick rim. The nose is subdued but quite leathery. Lean attack, and the acidity gives freshness. This is concentrated and spicy, even meaty, with surprisingly assertive tannins, and does have some complexity. The finish is not exactly elegant, but the wine should still evolve, though it can be drunk now. Long. 17
