Serena Sutcliffe: Vintage took place October 1–17. 48.8hl/ha, which is high for Cheval Blanc. Only 12.5% ABV, which seems low this century! Still so fresh—the Cabernet Franc gives that element, but it was also a great Merlot year. Smoky leather bouquet. Glorious red fruit—a real mark of 1985. Utterly delectable.
