Good acidity and concentration and tannin, but quite chewy and extracted. Second bottle slightly fresher. Tannic and concentrated and with very good aging potential 17

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep. Clean but not very expressive on nose, hints of plum. Solid acid, plentiful tannin on palate. But fine fruit. A sleeper? Very long and complex. Has the ingredients to be very good in 10 years’ time; not drinking today, but as near as this tasting has come to a great Aglianico 18

Bruno Besa: Black core to garnet rim. Open, mature nose, with black fruits and hints of orange peel, oriental spices, and mint. Full body, with great fine tannins and long persistent finish. A classic great wine, with very long aging potential 19
