Tim Atkin: Very pale garnet, almost Pinot Noir-like. Light, gamey, sweet nose. A delicate style of Aglianico. Sweet fruit, with raspberry and wild strawberry. Poised, balanced, not too tannic. A good introduction to the grape 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Mercifully not too deep; makes a change. Pleasant, fruity aromas: prune and plum. A lighter, brighter, more drinking style of Aglianico: feisty acid and not too tannic; actually pleasant to drink without food, though would go well with cheese and meats (roast beef!). Would go well with the Christmas turkey 17

Bruno Besa: Garnet core, gradually to tawny. Open, spicy, meaty note, with hints of smoke and mature, restrained nose. Medium body, with a great deal of finesse and considerable drinkability, for a change. Maybe a touch simple, but a very pleasant wine 17
